A Typical First Day (Sunday) Schedule at Fresh Pond
Meeting for Worship, 10 to 11 am
Worship begins as soon as the first person is seated in our circle. First Day School attenders and their teachers quietly join the meeting at an appointed time (see below). At the rise of meeting there are refreshments for all.We Welcome Families to Our Meeting
We value the presence of children and youth at our meeting. Our Quaker community is enriched by the presence of everyone, without regard to age. As a family, it will be helpful to talk about why you come to worship and to prepare to enter the silence of the Meeting room where Friends are gathered. Parents are responsible for care for their children at the end of worship.First Day School: 10:00 to 10:45 am
First Day School classes are offered from September through June. Children are divided into classes from preschool through junior high. Each class considers similar themes. Each class joins our Meeting for Worship at the end of First Day School.Adults (and sometimes older children) take turns teaching First Day School, a few months at a time. For more information, please speak to members of the Quaker Education and Childcare Committee.
