Snyder, Mary

Friends General Conference, 1986, 80 pages

Subjects: Teaching , Religion & Other Faiths , Parenting

Grades: K-2, 3-5

Review:

If you're on the beginning end of First Day School development, this resource helps you to begin organizing with what you have. Ideas for structure, activities, and approach to classroom dynamics are all practical and tested. Some reflections on Quaker parenting, as well. Soon to be updated as "Opening Doors to Religious Education." -CMJ

Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, 1998, 14 pages

Subjects: Quakerism

Grades: 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, adult

Review:

Lessons on how Quakers conduct their business. This is a 6-8 week curriculum which attempts to teach what a Threshing Session is, how to hold a Meeting for Business, and how to hold a Clearness Committee. Questions and games or crafts are used to introduce the lesson, the Quaker process is then tried, and stories or activities done to reinforce the lesson. LS
