George Fox : Four Lessons Based on the Book George Fox : The Man Who Wouldn't
Subjects: Quakerism Grades: K-2, 3-5 Review: Read a chapter of the book each week, or paraphrase the story, since the chapters are long (8-9 pages) and a bit wordy. Four lesson themes (Equality, Worship, Truthfulness, Non-violence) and several suggested additional activities for each week -- 17 activity sheets in all (which may be duplicated) : pictures to color, messages to decode, hidden words, a maze, etc. (Note : one message had two errors in coding, and there was a typo leading the reader to the wrong Bible verse.) The four themes are basic to understanding Quakerism, and can be appreciated by elementary age children. The variety of work sheets and activities is a helpful resource that can also be used with other lessons and projects. -JAK |
