The Permanent Board serves as the governance body for New England Yearly Meeting of Friends between our Annual Sessions.

Next board meeting

Administration

Develops the annual budget and oversees Yearly Meeting accounts

Shepherds the work of the Yearly Meeting; gathers Friends serving in leadership roles to advise, coordinate, and integrate their service 

Manages and invests Yearly Meeting funds and other funds entrusted to it

Sets policies and procedures for submitting materials to the Yearly Meeting Archives

Naming & Nurturing Gifts

Identifies Friends with the gifts, skills, and experience needed to serve as Yearly Meeting Nominators

Nominates people to serve on the Friends Camp Committee

Identifies and encourages Friends with the gifts and skills to serve through Yearly Meeting committees

Ministries & Programs

Supports the nurturing of the faith life, spiritual growth, and leadership of children and youth of New England Yearly Meeting

Plans the program and related activities for our annual gathering

Oversees the award of grants to support the ministries of Friends in New England

Has stewardship of Friends Camp

Is revising the book of Faith and Practice of New England Quakers

Relationships

Meeting together regularly, this body works closely with the Yearly Meeting Secretary, Presiding Clerk, and others to bring sustained and prayerful accompaniment to local meetings.

Comprises Yearly Meeting representatives to triennial gatherings and on the General Board of Friends United Meeting.

Represents New England Yearly Meeting on the Central Committee of Friends General Conference.

Fosters the spiritual relationship with Cuban Friends and facilitates intervisitation between New England and Cuba Yearly meetings.

Represents NEYM in the work of the international Friends World Committee for Consultation, and promotes and interprets FWCC’s work within the Yearly Meeting.

Works to strengthen Friends faith and practice of Moses Brown School and support the relationship between New England Yearly Meeting and the School.
