New England Friends Launch Spanish Quaker Literature Website

Benigno Sánchez-Eppler (Northampton MM) and Susan Furry (Smithfield MM) have launched raicescuaqueras.org for their Spanish translations of Quaker literature. Recent works include Woolman's Plea for the Poor (Una petición por los pobres) and an emerging anthology of passages from early Friends.

Quaker Lobbying Organization Seeks Lead Fundraiser

FCNl LogoThe Friends Committee on National Legislation, a non-partisan Quaker lobby in the public interest, is seeking an experienced director of development to take their fund development to a new level, leading all aspects of the program, including major donors, annual fund and on-line donations, planned giving, foundation grants and a possible capital campaign.

 

Environmental Leadership Workcamp in Mexico

The Quaker Leadership Program at Westtown School invites you to consider joining them for an Environmental Leadership Service Workcamp in the summer of 2010 in Huatusco, Mexico. These programs are for youth and adults. This workcamp has a transformative effect on participants. The deadline for registration is February 1.

Westerly MM Friend Authors Quaker Anthology

Dave Madden (Westerly MM) has released a new book, A Quaker Cupboard: Bible Verses and Friendly Voices in Prose and Poems on the Quaker Testimonies of SPICES. "Using the acronym SPICES, A Quaker Cupboard presents the testimonies of Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality and Stewardship through Bible verses, yearly meeting queries, poems and prose from Quakers over the centuries. All proceeds after printing costs will fund community outreach by the Westerly Monthly Meeting."
