First Day School

First Day School is equivalent to most churchs' Sunday schools. Children in Grades K - 12 and younger are taught the fundamental basics of Quakerism and Christianity during the school year and play games during the summer. Teacher sign up to teach and have a choice of each of the three groups:

They are:

Preschoolers And Infants

In the class for the preschoolers and infants stories are read, games are played, and crafts are done. Each baby has a person to watch over him/her and the preschoolers have one or two teachers (depending on the number of children there are).Quaker values are emphasized in the class.

Elementary School Children

In the elementary school class some of the most important learning takes place. The children learn about why they are at the Meeting. They learn some of the history of Friends and about the teachings of Christianity to help them learn to be better citizens of the Meeting and the wider world.

Middle/High School Children

When children enter the Middle/High School group they are already valuable members of the community. Most of the members of this group serve on a Meeting committee. They continue their study of Quaker history and learn about the teachings of the Bible so as to chose their own spiritual path.
